Want to 4X your results? A lesson from horses.
A single draft horse can pull a load of up to 8,000 pounds. At a typical weight of 1,600 pounds this feat is hard to imagine.
So, what happens when we put two draft horses together? Can they pull 18,000 pounds?
One would think. But the answer to this question can teach us a lot about the importance (and magic) of team synergy.
When two draft horses are working together – they don’t pull twice as much, they actually pull three times as much weight, than if they pulled alone – 24,000 pounds.
Now – this is the result the two horses get from simply working together to accomplish their task.
But when the two horses have worked and trained together before and have built a relationship of synergy with one another – the weight the two horses can pull is 32,000 pounds.
4X their impact working alone.
Why do I tell you this story about horses on your Tuesday morning at work? So, you can consider this –
➡️ What if the way you’ve been viewing ‘teamwork’ hasn’t fully realized the role it plays in the results you’re looking to achieve?
➡️ What if you’ve been viewing it as a ‘nice to have’? Or something to ‘do for the staff’ instead of a vital player in creating productivity and new ideas?
➡️ What if you have grown tired of figuring out the complicated nature of teams working together (especially remotely) and have been focusing on a few key players to drive the work forward?
How can embracing the team as a whole – and how it works together – 4X your results?
